Ecohanger to the rescue!

So, I was reading this article on Mediaweek titled “Shine a Light Outdoor takes green to the bank with recyclable and energy-efficient billboards” by Richard Zitrin published yesterday, and I just had to laugh.
Don’t get me wrong, going green is a very serious matter. More importantly, it is a very serious business. As this article mentioned, if you offer a good product while going green, you are almost ensured a loyal following. Now, if you offer a crap product, no amount of green is going help…
But what made me laugh was the mention of Ecohanger. I had seen advertising for this product earlier this year, and I thought, that’s an interesting idea. After all, marketers are constantly looking for a new platform for advertising… I don’t know how effective this medium would be, but it is at least new
So, when I saw that ad for Ecohanger earlier, I didn’t really think through distribution. But this article shred some light on that issue: 10 million Ecohangers have been distributed to dry cleaners. So, this is really a win-win situation for everyone. The marketers get their messages in customers’ home. The customers get an earth-friendly hanger that works well as a hanger. More importantly, dry cleaners get free hangers! I don’t know if you had noticed, but I have seen a sign that says “there is a significant shortage in hangers” now for 5 years! That sign always made me giggle. Perhaps Ecohanger is the answer
